In some variants borrowed from Classical Syriac ܩܣܛܢܝܐ (qasṭāniyā) from Ancient Greek κᾰστᾰ́νειᾰ (kăstắneiă), in others directly from Ancient Greek κᾰ́στᾰνᾰ (kắstănă).
