From Aramaic חַעְנָא (ḥaʿnā), from Proto-Semitic *ḥ-ḍ-n; related to Classical Syriac ܚܢܐ (ḥannā) by dissimilation, Arabic حِضْن (ḥiḍn) and Hebrew חֹצֶן (khótzen).
