Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Prakrit 𑀲𑁄𑀴𑀲 (soḷasa), from Sanskrit षोडशन् (ṣoḍaśan). Cognate with Konkani सोळा (soḷā), Marathi सोळा (soḷā), Sinhalese සොළොස (soḷosa).
