[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀟𑀺𑀬𑀸 (kakkaḍiyā), from Sanskrit कर्कट (karkaṭa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀇𑀓𑀸- (-ikā-). Cognate to Gujarati કાકડી (kākḍī), Marathi काकडी (kākḍī).
