[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit तिड्ड (tiḍḍa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-) without cluster simplification, of uncertain and perhaps Munda origin. Cognate with Gujarati તીડ (tīḍ), Punjabi ਟਿੱਡਾ (ṭiḍḍā), Pahari-Potwari تْرِڈّا (triḍḍā).
