Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀤𑀼𑀇𑀚𑁆𑀚 (duijja), from Sanskrit द्वितीय (dvitī́ya, second), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *dwitíyas, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dwitíyas, from Proto-Indo-European *dwitíyos, from *dwi- (two, apart). Doublet of दूजा (dūjā) and दूसरा (dūsrā).
