Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian نظر انداز (nazar andāz, “cast off, out of sight”), not following the sandhi rules of Sanskrit because its components are of Perso-Arabic origin. Compare Punjabi ਨਜ਼ਰ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ (nazar andāz) / نَظَر انداز, Sindhi نظر انداز.
