From छार (chār, “mass, lump, clod”), from Prakrit 𑀙𑀟𑀸 (chaḍā, “mass, lump”).
From छाड़ (chāṛ, “vomit”), from Prakrit 𑀙𑀟𑁆𑀟𑀺 (chaḍḍi, “vomiting sickness”), from Sanskrit छर्दि (chardi, “expulsion”).
Dasa suggests Sanskrit दरित (darita, “timid”) but this does not make sense.
