Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑁂𑀝𑁆𑀞 (seṭṭha), from Sanskrit श्रेष्ठ (śreṣṭha). Doublet of श्रेष्ठ (śreṣṭh), a tatsama. Cognate to Punjabi ਸੇਠ (seṭh).
