Etymology[edit]

From Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Maharastri Prakrit 𑀥𑀽𑀆 (dhūā)), from Sanskrit दुहितृ (dúhitṛ). Compare Old Gujarati धूय (dhūya, daughter, nominative singular feminine), Old Marathi 𑘠𑘳𑘪𑘰 (dhuvā).
