[edit]Inherited from Proto-Middle Indo-Aryan *𑀤𑁄𑀮 (*dola); related to Middle Persian [script needed] (dōl, “bucket; Aquarius”). Cognate with Marathi डोल (ḍol), Punjabi ڈول / ਡੋਲ (ḍol), Sindhi ڏولَ (ḍ̠olu).
