  • నువ్వు (nuvvu) and నీవు (nīvu) are equivalent terms in all but register; నీవు (nīvu) is considered to be a more formal word than నువ్వు (nuvvu), though both are used only when addressing someone with whom the speaker either has an intimate relationship or someone who is inferior in social standing to the speaker. నువ్వు (nuvvu) is much more commonly used than నీవు (nīvu) in daily speech.
