နွံ (nwaṁ, to be, to have) +‎ ယၟု (ymu, name); cf. Thai มีชื่อ and Chinese 有名 (yǒumíng), which have the same construction.

Particularly: “Lopburi, Thailand: /nûm jîaʔmû/ based on นุ่มเยี่ยะมุ่ from จำปี ซือสัตย์ (2007), but note that not like Thai, Mon has no distinction in either tone or vowel length.”
