From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Georgian თაფლი (tapli), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Kartvelian *tapl-. Cognate with Mingrelian თოფური (topuri), Laz თოფრი (topri) and Svan თუ (tu).
