Probably from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Armenian *ղոգին (*ġogin), metathesized from *գողին (*goġin), a dialectal development of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Armenian անկողին (ankołin, bed); compare dialectal գողինք (goġinkʻ, bed).
