Etymology[edit]
From Old Georgian მტკაველი (mṭḳaveli), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *mṭḳaw-. Cognate with Mingrelian ტკუ (ṭḳu), ტკო (ṭḳo) and Laz მტკო (mťǩo), მტუ (mťu).
