Solanum campylacanthum syns. So­la­num pan­du­ri­for­me, So­la­num in­ca­num is found in the African tropics:
Its toxicity vari­ously re­duced by hu­man se­lec­tion, it is wide­ly used as an anal­ge­sic and in Ethio­pia in particular the fruits are used as soap and in tan­ning leather.
