From Proto-Nuristani *řota, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hráwtas, from Proto-Indo-European *Hrowtós. Cognate with Kamkata-viri řu, Waigali (Zhonchigal) ẓu, (Nisheigram) vřu.[1]
