[edit]Literally "dwellers of the mountain-land",[1] from *ฤkaufaka- + *-(i)ya- (adjectival suffix). *ฤkaufaka- itself is composed of *ฤ- (โtoโ) + *kaufa- (โmountainโ) + *-ka- (hypocoristic suffix).
