Etymology

Ultimately from Proto-Turkic *yor(ɨ)- (to walk). Cognate with Bashkir юрға (yurğa), Kyrgyz жорго (jorgo), Southern Altai јорго (ǰorgo), Khakas чорға (çorğa), Uzbek yoʻrgʻa, Uyghur يورغا (yorgha), Turkmen ýorga, Turkish yorga, Yakut дьоруо (joruo, ambling gait; a horse with such a gait).
