Etymology
[edit]Likely from a variant form of the verb ܗܵܘܹܐ (hāwē, “to be”), forming unattested *ܝܲܗܘܝܼܬܘܿܢ (*yahwītōn) or a corruption of ܗܵܘܹܝܬܘܿܢ (hāwētōn), theoretically being contractions of *ܝܲܗܘܹܝܢ ܐܲܢ݇ܬܘܿܢ (*yahwēn atōn) and *ܗܵܘܹܝܢ ܐܲܢ݇ܬܘܿܢ (*hāwēn atōn) respectively.
