[edit]From ნთხოზ- (ntxoz-) + -უმ (-um) + -ს (-s). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *txaz- : *txz- (“to plait, weave; to compose”).

- to braid, to knit, to weave (hair, rope, thread etc.)

- I braided corn and hang it on the ნაჲლა (nayla)
- to make rope (from hemp), to make yarn (from wool)
