- A letter of the Runic alphabet, present in the Elder Fuþark (ᚾ), the Anglo-Saxon Fuþorc (ᚾ, called nyd), and the Younger Fuþark (ᚾ, called nauðr in Old Norse and naud in Icelandic), representing /n/ and associated with need and distress.
