Etymology

[edit]

Morphologically, apparently from *πŒΏπƒπŒ»πŒΏπŒ½πŒΎπŒ°πŒ½ (*uslunjan) +‎ -πŒ΄πŒΉπŒ½πƒ (-eins), the former being a hypothetical prefixed form of a hypothetical verb *𐌻𐌿𐌽𐌾𐌰𐌽 (*lunjan, β€œto save”), but none of these verbs are attested. Cognates are required for verification of origin. This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term.
