  1. (nominal suffix) Added to a verb to form a noun or less frequently an adjective.
    nyit (to open)nyitány (overture)

Usage notes

  • (nominal suffix) No longer productive. Harmonic variants:
    -ány is added to back vowel words
    -ény is added to front vowel words
