Suffix

-ஆர் • (-ār)

1. third person plural suffix of the rational class; also used as an honorific for the singular.

   ‎வந்த (vanta) + ‎-ஆர் (-ār) → ‎வந்தார் (vantār, “they came”)

2. epicene honorific suffix.

   ‎தகப்பன் (takappaṉ) + ‎-ஆர் (-ār) → ‎தகப்பனார் (takappaṉār)
