    First attested in Old Tamil -𑀧𑁆𑀧𑀼 (-ppu).[1] Cognate with Malayalam -പ്പ് (-ppŭ).

    1. forms nouns of action, verbal nouns, from verbs.
      நினை (niṉai, to think) + ‎-ப்பு (-ppu) → ‎நினைப்பு (niṉaippu, thought; the act of thinking)

      இனி (iṉi, to be sweet) + ‎-ப்பு (-ppu) → ‎இனிப்பு (iṉippu, sweetness)
