[edit]Inherited from Old Tupi -e'yma (“-less”), from Proto-Tupi-Guarani *-eʔɨm, from Proto-Tupian *-eʔɨm.
Suffix

- -less; -free; added to a noun, a verb or an adjective to indicate a lack or deprivation of that thing
- forms the antonym of adjectives, adverbs, and 2nd and 3rd class verbs
- tipiima ― shallow (literally, “deepless”)
