gwyddbwyll
Welsh
Etymology
From Proto-Brythonic *gwɨðbuɨll, from Proto-Celtic *widukʷēslā (literally “wood intelligence”). By surface analysis, gwŷdd (“trees, wood”) + pwyll (“consideration, reason”). Compare Cornish gwydhbol, Breton gwezboell and also Irish ficheall, Scottish Gaelic fidhcheall, Manx feeal.
