Other Czech indices

[edit]

This index is not built automatically, unlike Category:Czech nouns, Category:Czech verbs and the like. --Daniel Polansky 08:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Structure of an index page

[edit]

The structure of an index page may be as follows, using headings, modeled on other languages. See for instace Index:English/a.

Headings

[edit]

Level 2

List type

[edit]
  • Czech: bullet (*) -- an arbitrary choice, in preference to using </br> at the end of the line.
  • English: bullet (*)
  • German: definition list (:)
  • Slovak: bullet (*)

Example

[edit]
==ba=
...
* bajka
...
==be==
...
* bedro

Sorting or ordering

[edit]

Let us sort the entries by the existing Czech conventions, as far as practicable. That is, only the following characters have any sorting significance:

a b c č d e f g h ch i j k l m n o p q r ř s š t u v w x y z ž

For instance, the following sorting is correct, despite ú coming before u:

  • úl
  • uletět

Unfortunately, I have broken these conventions and will have to fix the index accordingly. --Daniel Polansky 13:15, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tools

[edit]

Czech sorting in Microsoft Windows can be done using gsort from GnuWin32[1], given the locale of Windows is set to Czech.

Scope

[edit]

I propose that inflected forms are out of scope of this index. --Daniel Polansky 16:27, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
