The statements in the examples are semantically false, even though they are syntactically correct. (To be precise: Mercury and Venus don't have moons.) Of course this doesn't matter for the main purpose of demonstrating how da is to be used, but it's highly sloppy and likely to annoy readers, thus diverting from that main purpose.
