Borrowed from Ancient Greek Γοθολία (Gotholía) (Can this(+) etymology be sourced? Particularly: “It could also come directly from the Hebrew, to which it bears stronger resemblance.”), derived from Biblical Hebrew עֲתַלְיָה (ʿĂṯalyā).
