Why "Central Franconian language"?

Central Franconian language is just a generic term for Ripuarian and Moselle Franconian (with Luxemburgish as a specific variant). But both of them are just differnet dialects of Germany, so please seperate this category.

Well, yeah. But Central Franconian + Rhine Franconian is = West Central German. And, on the other hand, Ripuarian and Moselle Franconian can each be divided further into various subdialects... When the decision was made how to cover these dialects, the middle path was taken for reasons of utility: i.e. not to have too much variation within one language, and neither to create too many different languages with identical forms for many words. And it's a perfectly fine decision: 1.) Central Franconian (German Mittelfränkisch) is a well-established dialect group in German linguistics. 2.) The virtual entirety of this language is covered by the Rheinisches Wörterbuch, which is the most important single source for our coverage. 178.1.250.125 00:30, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Spelling

For those who want to discuss the standard spelling of lemmas and usage examples for Central Franconian, please see this. I want to add here that I think two things cannot be in doubt: 1.) We must take the spelling of the Colognian Academy as the basis. 2.) We must deviate from it regarding the spelling of /g/. -- The other deviations I consider well founded and in line with the general tendencies of the practice, but these are less definite and could easily be changed when challenged.
