Deletion debate[edit]

The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

Category:Sign languages[edit]

A similar category, Category:Constructed languages, failed RFDO recently, in this discussion: Category talk:Constructed languages.

That discussion, and the reasons to delete that category, most certainly apply to Category:Sign languages as well, so let's delete it to build a consistent category tree. --Daniel. 12:24, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

delete overly specific. -- Prince Kassad 13:58, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Delete as overly specific.—msh210 (talk) 15:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Comment. See [[Category talk:ja:Sign languages]].—msh210 (talk) 15:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'd be happy to keep it. Category:Languages has a lot of entries, so removing these into subcategories seems ok to me. Mglovesfun (talk) 16:01, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
We are a multilingual dictionary. Almost anything related to language we should keep, whether it's tonal, unwritten, whatever. The point is not if it fits in with our scheme of usefulness to the user. There isn't any reason to remove something so valuable to us. DAVilla 19:42, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
But this is not the category of language categories. It's the category of language names' entries.—msh210 (talk) 19:49, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

RFD failed, category and two subcategories deleted. Mglovesfun (talk) 14:00, 11 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
