  He was shot dead in his car by members of the special Mirotvorets («Peacemaker») battalion, created on 9 May 2014 within the department of internal affairs of the Kiev region. This militia is associated with the Mirotvorets website, which publishes a list of <«enemies of Ukraine», with their personal data, address and telephone numbers, so that they can be harassed or even eliminated. The Ukrainian singer Oleg Vinnik was put on the Mirotvorets list for calling for peace between Ukrainians and Russians in September 2019, after the election of Zelensky.
