I'm not going to outbid everyone else, potentially including someone who knows nothing about errors, for a coin I am 99.99% certain is nothing more than a common Zincoln that's been fire damaged, especially since I has seen fire damaged Zincolns before. Nor would I add insult to injury by using my money to have is sent back in a body bag as a damaged coin.

2003 could be the last year for the Zincoln.......

Now here is the scoop. If you have a US coin you would like to swap, please post a detailed description. It can be ANYTHING! The first five I see posted from five different people (if there is that much interest) will be put up for a vote, and I will trade for the winning coin. I don't care if it is a '97 Zincoln, an '07 Saint or a '93 Chain, copper, silver or gold.

Not infrequently, one of us will spot a Zincoln lying on the sidewalk or street, and pick it up. Today, I spotted a dime and scooped it up. Later she found a Zincoln, and ere we had traveled much further, I snagged a Jefferson. To which I feel compelled to cry in a voice both loud and long -- "Hey! This is fun!" :-)

It may well work, and the price is coming down, it was $799 the first time I saw it. But how would I find the S-Mints and the Wheats and the German 2?¢ coins? Now if it sorted those out then we might be talking:)

I harvest pre-Zincolns from those pennies I get in change and find the ratio of Zincolns to Lincolns to be about 20 to 1 based on casual observation.

    I wish.
The Zincoln is a terrible coin. Poor metal content that doesn't stand up to wear (I have 1700 year old debased Roman coins in better condition than pennies that are just a few years old in circulation). Bad reverse design. Tiny buying power.
It's more of an annoyance than a coin.
