When I was in highschool a mere 7 years ago, we had the 'SPecial EDucation' classes for mentally deficient and/or physically disabled kids. The 'normal' students called the 'special students' SPEDs. Some of the SPEDS were merely annoying; following you and babbling or blocking the aisles with their chairs, crutches etc. Some were unpredictable, and at least 2 were, IMHO, dangerous.
