Etymology

From Oghuzification of name Kaykaus (anlaut and inlaut /k/ > /g/, id est: Kaykāwus > Gaygavuz).[1] Also compare: Nogai-Khan > Nogais, Uzbek-Khan > Uzbeks, Bashkord-khan > Bashkirs.
