Etymology[edit]
From English Cornwall and French Cornouaille, both ultimately of the same origin, corresponding to Proto-Brythonic *Kernɨw + the Germanic suffix -wealas (“non-Germanic foreienger”) (see wealh).[1] More at Cornouaille.
