[edit]

Some issues:

  • ā-subjunctives are actually s-subjunctives, but with an extra thematic -a- stuck before the -s-.
  • t-preterites are innovated from s-preterites. (Which are ironically not supported.)
  • I have no idea where the passive preterite endings in -o and -ūnts came from; it's certainly unconnected to the Old Irish ones (which come from the past participle + possibly some enclitic).
  • The reduplicated preterites do not work correctly. If we work down from PIE, we get 1sg -a, 2sg -ta, 3sg -e, 1pl -me, 2pl -e, and 3pl -īr. The 1sg and 3sg endings are obvious when looking at the Old Irish forms, but the rest of the forms were replaced by blatant innovations. I wonder if we could just get only the 1sg and 3sg forms to display with the rest of them being in question marks.

@Mellohi!: Sorry, I can't help. I don't have access to any sources on Proto-Celtic verb inflection. —Mahāgaja · talk 18:04, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
