熱儂

@Mar vin kaiser It's something one may not notice since our dialect leans more on the "hot weather" meaning. I think I put that before in 2021 cuz I remember my guama saying before expressions like lua̍h--lâng lâi --lo or lua̍h--lâng --lo, like normally they do not talk about summer as a season, but just think of it as "hot weather" because the seasons in our country here are a bit ambiguous on what exactly is a season in tropical climate and when exactly does it start besides vague idea of which months. It's mostly just rainy season, hot season (summer), and normal climate. or one thinks of summer in relation to summer vacation (I think my dad told me before 暑假 sú-ká and couldn't think of much else). The boomers and still living elderlies in my family and cousins normally don't think too much of other countries or going abroad so they haven't discussed those in Hokkien with us besides my cousins and siblings talking about it in English words in Taglish. If one asks a native speaker what's a specific term for the seasons here, they would likely tell me the Hokkien term for summer vacation or add 天(thiⁿ) at the end which I think is what I remember the instance I broached this topic to my dad before, but realistically, the same speaker normally doesn't use it, but instead says this lua̍h--lâng lâi --lo expression or for rainy weather says lo̍h-hǒ͘ --lo or when the same speaker starts to think of a word for "rainy season", that's when he says lo̍h-hǒ͘-thiⁿ --lo. I haven't heard of someone say loa̍h-thiⁿ --lo yet tho, so I just put what I naturally knew my family would naturally say back then in 2021.

Of course, I knew the other places having multiple terms for each dialectal synonyms chart row means there's a possibility of course of more terms yet to be added, which I planned to add to the Manila (Hokkien) row only when I encountered or knew or confirmed their existence when the time would come that I encounter it. Of course, if you or others have encountered another term, you may add as well, tho normally I think a word for summer is normally not common vocabulary in my family since the word for "hot weather" does its job well to cover for that. I think in the past years, I have come back to wonder about this term, I just haven't encountered yet loa̍h-thiⁿ to add it yet, so this lua̍h--lâng is what I thought will do for now until more terms come up if there are more among Metro Manila filchi.
