Proto-Uralic
[edit]Reconstruction
[edit]Some sources (e.g. Sammallahti 1988) reconstruct *čečä and a dissimilation *č-č > *ć-č for Finnic, Samic and Komi; others (UEW) assume instead a widespread assimilation *ś-č > *č-č or *š-č. Compare *śača-.
