Fixed accent

[edit]

@Gnosandes Based on what? —Rua (mew) 16:10, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Rua, Provided a link. The Balto-Slavic accent corresponds to the Greek. Most likely, this group includes Proto-Germanic. However, this group is in contradiction with the Vedic one. -- Gnosandes (talk) 16:26, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, but what evidence is there within Balto-Slavic? Latvian points to a mobile accent. —Rua (mew) 16:28, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Rua, Right. Most likely it is contamination with "water" — ûdens. However, here we go into a different theory. But judging by the data, the Greek barytone corresponds to the Balto-Slavic barytone. I believe, as well as the author to whom the reference is given, that the roots "water" and "otter" are unrelated. -- Gnosandes (talk) 16:35, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Rua, You can change the accent. Because you are guided by Vedic data. Then postulate Hirt's law in the ū́ˀdrāˀ -- Gnosandes (talk) 16:44, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
But Hirt's law is only triggered by laryngeals as far as I know, not by Winter's law. —Rua (mew) 17:17, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Rua, Oh g̶o̶d̶s, phew. I'm confused again about ˀ. Please excuse me. Not in the habit. Then I don't know what to offer you. :с -- Gnosandes (talk) 18:03, 28 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
