Adosa, adosan

[edit]

The oldest known forms are Early Old English, ADOSA (noun for ADZE) and its complementary verb, ADOSAN; these forms unfortunately contradict the fabricated Proto-Germanic reconstruction, which would otherwise be plausible, except that there is no evidence of any Germanic connection whatsoever. The etymology of these forms is currently unknown; and the Spanish, Basque and Welsh forms are too remote in their morphology to be logically acceptable.
