Old Norse

[edit]

Old Norse does show a collective formation -væpni in alvæpni, however, I'm not sure if it's representing *alagawēpniją specifically, or *alawēpniją, as the prefix *ga- isn't always required to form the collective, sometimes the suffix is enough, cf. *rīkiją, *wabją, *natją.

A similar situation with *gawurdiją, Old Norse shows a compound sannyrði, which could represent *sanþagawurdiją, but compare the West Germanic forms OE sōþword, OS sōthword, which point to *sanþawurdą + *-ją. Anglom (talk) 18:14, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
