i found sanskrit कुक्कुट (kukuta) meaning chicken ,could this be a cognate of the proto germannic ? 47.29.169.220 09:22, 17 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I guess not. Proto-Germanic word would come from something like PIE *gugnós, whereas Sanskrit कुक्कुट (kukuta) looks like PIE *kukutós. Most likely both are onomatopoeia coming from the sound made by cocks. 2A00:F41:820:E4CB:2C03:5767:B0FF:5368 00:22, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
