Etymology

*sundrô would presumably be derived from either *sundraz or *sundrą, the latter presuming an adverb derived from the accusative of *sundraz. On the other hand, in view of Ancient Greek ἄτερ (áter, “without, apart from”), I prefer the reconstruction of the simple adverb as *sunder, not *sundrą. Either the adjective was derived from *sunder, or the adjective is a ghost form, being a later adjectivizing of *sunder.

I don't think that *sundrô could be derived from *sunder, as this should give *sunderô, compare *afterô > Gothic 𐌰𐍆𐍄𐌰𐍂𐍉 (aftarō), unless of course 𐌰𐍆𐍄𐌰𐍂𐍉 (aftarō) is a strictly Gothic formation based on unattested *𐌰𐍆𐍄𐌰𐍂 (*aftar).
