Athematic paradigm overhaul needed.[edit]

This page has serious and confusing errors as of Dec. 18, '22

1. most glaringly the gratuitous deletion of the first-person dual without deleting the whole column, thereby completely skewing the table's format,

2. then there's the lack of primary/secondary ending distinction in the first person plural which was generalized in a split later on (present and subjunctive should be "*ἐμ̔ές" and "*ἔὡμες"; imperfect and optative should stay as-is)

3. the optative suffix is written here with ̽yā instead of *yē, and whereas only the *yē is to be found in optative singular (being from *h₁syeh₁m to *ἔἱ̯ην to εἴην),

4. and its failure to ablaut to *ī in the dual and plural in the absence of the Sassure Effect that would normally be brought on by the thematic, thus from *h₁sih₁me to *ἔῑ̔μεν to εἶμεν (with the εἴημεν form being a secondary development)).

the only source of a long ā in this table should be in, and only in, the third person dual optative and imperfect endings, (and possibly the imperative.) 97.67.246.85 15:45, 18 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
