This one's from Starostin (2005, STARLING.rinet.ru database) whose reconstruction of "Proto-North-Caucasian" is based mostly on comparing one consonant across suspected cognates, one third of which aren't even real cognates (Nichols 2003). https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Reconstruction:Proto-Northeast_Caucasian/%CE%BB:%C9%94n is Schrijver (2021)'s reconstruction of the same word, following Nichols's (2003) consonant correspondences and examining ablaut patterns and vowel systems across Nakh and Avar-Andi-Tsezic.

References: 1. Nichols, J. 2003 "The Nakh-Daghestanian Consonant Correspondences". 2. Schrijver, P. 2021 "A history of the vowel systems of the Nakh languages (East Caucasian), with special reference to umlaut in Chechen and Ingush". Qmbhiseykwos (talk) 17:09, 5 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

And yes Starostin's database is from 2005 but it builds on work from 1986 and 1994, with method largely unedited, for his data is unable to account for vocalism in Nakh and Avar-Andi-Tsezic nearly as well as Schrijver's. Qmbhiseykwos (talk) 17:10, 5 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
