Recent-ish borrowing from Slavic?[edit]

I was reading Róna-Tas's article Early Bulgarian Loanwords in the Permian Languages[1] and in page 7 he is talking about the word for mushroom. He states that the Turkic words are ultimately borrowed from Slavic *gǫba prior to the 10th century. Compare also Hungarian gomba (mushroom). What are your opinions on this? Should we add it as a possibility in the etymology section or do something else?

Possible. Its spread area is already quite limited. BurakD53 (talk) 15:12, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. Also I didn't realise it at the time I started the discussion, but also compare Slavic-borrowed Hungarian gomba (mushroom). Yorınçga573 (talk) 15:16, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Seconding @BurakD53, could not find anything related to *kömbe in Clauson's dictionary, best to add a Slavic etymology for now AmaçsızBirKişi (talk) 15:18, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
